Norman Amundson is a UBC Professor Emeritus. He has a PhD from the University of Alberta and also holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Umea, Sweden. He has worked in the career development field for over 40 years. During this time he has been involved in a number of national and international career development projects. These projects include the dynamics of unemployment, group employment counselling, metaphors, employment counselling competencies, Hope-Action theory and practice, and the creation of career development workbooks such as Starting Points, Career Pathways, Career Flow, and Guiding Circles. He is also a co-author of Hope-Filled Engagement book, Career Recovery : Creating Hopeful Careers in Difficult Times, and Career Flow and Development : Hope in Action.
Norm has presented his work at many national and international conferences in more than 30 countries. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Umea, in Sweden and has been recognized by many national and international professional associations for his leadership and contributions in the career development field. Andrea Fruhling (PCC) is a Certified Organizational Coach, the Founding Director of Doubleknot Works, a Mentor Coach & Instructor for the University of British Columbia’s Organizational Coaching certification program, and Career Coaching Masterclass. She is also the Global Ambassador for the International Coaching Federation’s Career Coaching Community of Practice. Andrea’s workshops and training programs are built on a career and organizational coaching foundation, helping people actively engage in the work they do, and connect with the people they support. She has developed, and co-teaches Doubleknot’s Certification in Hope-Action Theory & Practice, bringing career practitioners together internationally, and increasing hopefulness around the world.
Andrea has delivered keynote presentations and workshop sessions for numerous national and international conferences, career development associations, organizations, and client groups (youth, indigenous communities, newcomers, etc.). Her work is practical and engaging with a focus on creativity, active, strengths-based learning, team engagement, and hope. Resources

Such a pleasure to listen to Norm and Andrea. I hope to get kick off start with my writing project where metaphor are the key to my style. Creative career counseling is the best approach I ever learned and worked with my clients.
