Saskatchewan does not have a certification process; however, we do have a formal agreement with the New Brunswick Career Development Association (NBCDA). For more details on the certification process, please visit the NBCDA website.
In addition, the SKCDA offers a 30% discount to members on the Career Professionals of Canada (CPC) courses, which can be used for certification. A list of courses offered by the CPC, please visit their website.
Pan Canadian Certification
A Certified Career Development Professional (CDP) designation is voluntary. It is a personal choice to obtain your designation and at this time is not required to work in Saskatchewan.
The new CDP Core Competency Framework defines the expected performance, knowledge, and abilities levels required to be an effective CDP. The certification model/process has been established and many of the parts are ready to go. But the final stage of the certification process is ongoing. If funding and progress continues the certification will be available to all CDP in the next couple years. Note anyone with a current CDP certification will be considered for transition to the Pan-Canadian Certified CDP designation when implemented.
For continued updates on the Pan-Canadian CDP Certification, please visit http://ccdp-pcdc.ca/en/. For information on the current path to certification, see below.
