Membership​ Categories and Fees

Membership Categories & Fees

Any individual or organization that supports the vision, mission and values of the SKCDA may become a member, following the receipt of an application and appropriate annual fee. Memberships are to be renewed annually by April 1st.  

After November 1 of the membership year (April 1-March 31), the SKCDA considers prorated membership rates and typically offers a discount. If you would like to be considered for this, please email skcda.inc@gmail.com. 

Any group or individual who registers for membership in February or March will receive 14 months of membership (February and March as well as the next membership year, which begins on April 1-March 31). 

Individual Membership
​Individual membership is offered to:
  • Career development practitioners working in the field of career development (e.g. counselling, vocational guidance, human resources)
  • Annual Membership Fee: $50.00
​
Student Membership
Student membership with full benefits of Individual Membership is offered to:
  • Students enrolled in an educational program related to career development (e.g. education, counselling, human resources)
  • Evidence of student status is required
  • Annual Membership Fee: $25.00

Senior Membership
Senior membership with full benefits of Individual Membership is offered to:
  • Anyone 65 years of age or older with an interest in the field of career development (e.g. retired practitioners)
  • Annual Membership Fee: $25.00

Employee Group Membership
Employee Group Membership is offered to:
  • Any group of individuals involved in the career development field
  • Employers are invited to purchase memberships on behalf of their employees
  • Employees are also welcome to apply as a group and pay collectively

Membership categories will be defined by the size of the group (e.g., small, mid-sized, and large). Membership groups will be offered discounts, as follows:

Small Group: (up to 5)
Annual Membership Fee: $225.00
Mid-Sized Group: (6-9)
Annual Membership Fee: $360.00
Large Group: (10-15)
Annual Membership Fee: $600.00

After November 1st of the membership year (April 1-March 31), discount rates are available as follows: 

Small Group: $95.00
Mid-Sized Group: 
$150.00
Large Group: $250.00 


All SKCDA members (both individual and group) will enjoy the benefit of having your news and events promoted by the SKCDA, both by email and on the website.

  • If the membership fee is an economic hardship, an applicant can submit a written request for a reduced or waived fee based on their situation.
  • Membership fees are reviewed annually.
  • At the discretion of the Board and appropriate Committee(s), fees may be increased as needed and appropriate for​ the benefits of membership.
  • A receipt will be issued once registration application is received. Upon receipt of payment, a membership number is issued and access to the "Members Only" section of the website will be granted.
