Interested becoming a certified Career Development Professional (CDP)?
Currently, discussion is ongoing at the national level regarding the possibility of implementing a National Career Development Certification program. Assuming National Certification does move forward, it likely won’t be in place until about or sometime in 2021. Few details are available at this point, as consultations are in the planning phase. For more information on developments, please visit the Canadian Council for Career Development website: https://cccda.org/index.php/cdp-competence.
CDP certification is not required or available in Saskatchewan. In the interim, the New Brunswick Career Development Association has agreed to process certification applications from practitioners in Saskatchewan. Further details can be found on their website at: http://www.nbcda-adcnb.ca/ under the “Certification” tab.
In addition, Career Professionals of Canada (CPC) offers two levels of certification in four competency areas of practice—resume, interview, employment and career strategy. SKCDA Member Benefit: 10% discount on fees.
