Newcomers to Canada bring valuable skills and experience—but often face unique barriers when entering the workforce. This webinar explores common challenges in the job search, including adapting resumes for the Canadian labour market, understanding workplace culture, and gaining that often-requested “Canadian work experience.”

Join Pratima Nanda (Regina Open Door Society) for insights into the realities newcomers face and how career development professionals can provide meaningful, practical support. Gain strategies to better guide and empower newcomers as they navigate their employment journey in Canada.

About the Speaker

Pratima brings over four years of experience as an Employment Readiness Instructor and more than a decade as a language instructor for newcomers, immigrants, and refugees at Regina Open Door Society. She specializes in helping individuals build skills, confidence, and a growth mindset through hands‑on workshops. Pratima is passionate about supporting people as they prepare for employment and recently completed her certification as a Resume Strategist through Career Professionals of Canada.
